Over the last two weeks our world has changed more than any of us would have ever expected. From tornadoes to a worldwide pandemic, these are challenging times for many. We have been monitoring these events and now have several meaningful matters to update you on. Please take a moment to explore our views on the news below, as everyone is affected by at least one of these important topics.

Important Tax Updates & News

  • Blankenship CPA Group, PLLC is still operating at full capacity. However, access to our offices is restricted to only a limited number of employees. We are meeting with clients virtually for the time being. If you want to meet, ask your CPA for a link!   • The Families First Coronavirus Response Act was signed into law on 3/18/20. This is a significant law with immediate impact on most employers. It provides for mandatory paid leave in a variety of circumstances, intended to be offset by payroll tax credits. Please click here to learn more about the sweeping application of the bill and do not hesitate to call if you need help assessing the impact of this Act on your business and planning accordingly.
  • Congress has passed and the President has signed the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (The CARES Act).  The CARES Act represents the largest stimulus bill ever passed by congress.  Provisions include the much anticipated PPP Loan, checks for many individuals, business relief provisions and liberalization of unemployment benefits, among other items.  Please click here to view a recording of an internal PPP Loan training we conducted we believe you will find helpful, and please click here to review the full summary of the CARES Act prepared by the Blankenship Consulting team.
  • The tornado that swept through Nashville, Mt. Juliet and along the interstate 40 corridor left terrible devastation in its wake. Our prayers continue to be with the victims of this costly storm.
